President’s Welcome
Hi Hall,
My name’s Guus and I’m your JCR President for 2026. My main job is to represent us as a JCR community and to communicate college’s initiatives to the wider student body. If you ever feel like there are issues which you feel should be addressed by our JCR, please feel free to come have a chat with me, I’ll most likely be in the college library, or in my room. You can also reach out via email.
I sit on a variety of college committee, these range from health and safety, to buildings, to the General Purposes and Bursarial Committee (GPBC). These are the mechanisms which allow college to make changes based on the wishes of the students. We are a community, not just the JCR, but also the college more generally.
I really encourage to get to know the college staff, turn up to JCR meetings, and get your voice heard. If you’ve got issues, it’s best to do so through the proper channels. Remember, Teddy is a community above all, and doing things properly and politely is the only way to maintain such a community.
